Vampire Weekend – ‘One’

I thought I was pretty much through with Vampire Weekend. Their album had been a fun discovery and all, but it hadn’t take long for my attention to turn elsewhere, resuming the search for interesting new bands without as much as a look over my shoulder. But their super-poppy hooks keep returning for involuntary playbacks within my subconscious so regularly that it has become a downright nusiance – specifically the call-and-response cheerlead of “Blake’s got a new face.” The same goes for the infectious spilling of ‘Bryn’  – damn them!
