School of Seven Bells – Iamundernodisguise
Brooklyn dream-pop trio comprising identical twin singers Alejandra and Claudia Deheza as well as former Secret Machines guitarist Benjamin Curtis. Gathering quite a bit of hype from those destined-for-greatness-in-2009 lists and drawing comparisons to Kate Bush and the Cocteau Twins…but I can’t help be reminded of the synchronised harmonies of those other NY-based twin sisters, The Pierces, who sing with a similar detached vocal style. Their debut album Alpinisms is out now on Full Time Hobby.
