Beirut vs Ghostface Killah – Save Me Concubine
An inspired pairing: one of the Wu-Tang’s finest lyricists worked into my favourite track from the recent Beirut/Real People double EP. It’s one of the latest in a long line of mash-ups from prolific mixers The Hood Internet, though this may be their best one yet. I think the true measure of success for a mash-up is making it so good that the hip-hop artist in question is forced to check out the back catalogue of his counterpart – and in this case I very much like the idea of Ghostface kicking back to Beirut.
