Video: Richard Swift – Lady Luck

admin on Apr 1st 2009

This was the track that introduced me to Richard Swift and I haven’t heard anything better by him since.  His most recent release, Atlantic Ocean, is far removed from this soulful sound and seems surprisingly tacky – I couldn’t even get through most of the songs. As someone who went from singing in Quaker churches at 14 to recording musical projects under various different names, Swift seems to be a diverse and unpredictable character; but watching him do a soundcheck for this song (video below), you can’t help but feel he’s one to take a chance on with every release.
