Song of the Day: Mumford & Sons – The Cave

Mumford & Sons – The Cave

Now that Noah and the Whale have traded in their sound and seem ready to take on stadia-sized audience, their friends Mumford & Sons could prove to be ready-made replacements as family-orientated folk heroes. Much like NOTW did last summer, this London quartet treads between twee and melodrama,  “ripping off Shakespeare” to rouse the world-weary in you. The third installment of their EP trilogy The Cave and the Open Sea is available to download from www.rawrip.com as of today. A stint with the Maccabees in May followed by their own headline tour in September makes them a good bet to find success in 2009.
