Deerhunter – Rainwater Cassette Exchange
This is the title track from Deerhunter’s forthcoming EP, Rainwater Cassette Exchange, which is to be released digitally on 16 May and physically on 8 June through Kranky/4AD. It’s a laidback, fairly dub-tastic number which combines recognisable elements of Bradford’s solo work as Atlas Sound with the catchy pop-rock of last year’s Microcastle/Weird Era Cont., a double-feat that multiplied their audience considerably. A great title and a tantalising taste at another potential direction for the band; hopefully they will be performing more new material at their live dates next month in Dublin, London and the excellent Primavera festival in Barcelona.
