Treasure – My Feathers (live)
This is a great and relatively new trio from Brooklyn entirely deserving of their name. Though there is little mention of them outside of their MySpace profile so far, the balance the band members strike between each other is so gentle, dark and intoxicating that their allure seems made for an intimate, half-empty venue where the sound is perfect and everyone walks away mesmerised. You can buy a collection of seven songs entitled Tea Parties through their site, which comes with letter-pressed covers of original artwork designed and individually hand painted by Maude Black. There are only 300 copies and Pure Groove snapped up 25, who in turn sold out. The track above is taken from a live recording by NYCtaper which you can download in full for free here.
