Elephant Stone – Don’t You Know

Perhaps it owes a great deal to the Brian Jonestown Massacre, but this track (the closer on Elephant Stone’s debut Seven Seas) builds into a pysch-pop freak-out worth a play or two as a new week begins. Rishi Dhir started the band after leaving The High Dials three years ago, discovering that he had a wealth of recorded material that channelled Indian classical music with rock and pop (listen out for the chords from ‘I Can See Clearly Now’ towards the end).
