Netherfriends – Nunya
You’re probably only going to think of Animal Collective the first time you listen to this, but screw it – that’s because it’s joyous, uplifting and catchy. And you can’t fault that formula. Shawn Rosenblatt began Netherfriends in Chicago before expanding it as a live ensemble that played SXSW and CMJ before releasing a 6-track EP entitled Calling You Out on Emergency Umbrella. Rosenblatt’s resolution for 2010 is to perform in every U.S. state while writing and recording a new song in each one.
