Seven Saturdays’ intricate electro ambiance was originally conceived to score the sensation of feeling trapped in Los Angeles; but a cursory browse through YouTube hints that it must have been made with the BBC  documentary series Planet Earth in mind. They are a live band, featuring members and collaborators of M83, St. Vincent and David Bowie; yet also the solo project of Jonathan D. Haskell, formerly of FIRS. Spiritualized – I Think I’m In Love

If you can get your hands on the newly released box set of Ladies and Gentleman We Are Floating in Space by Spiritualized, the a cappella and gospel choir outtakes of ‘I Think I’m in Love’ on Disc 2 are the only tracks you need to hear today. You can get some sense of the force of it from this video, when the band were accompanied by an eight-piece string section, six-piece horn ensemble and a 12-strong choir, as part of ATP’s Don’t Look Back series in October.
