The sound and spirit of Olivia Tremor Control’s catchy psychedelics is still going strong with Circulatory System, the band Will Cullen Hart formed in the wake of OTC’s demise. Although a follow-up to 2001’s self-titled LP has been repeatedly delayed, Signal Morning (put together from hours of material recorded in at least seven different studios) is finally due to be released this August through Cloud Recordings – and new Olivia Tremor Control material could be on the way too! Elf Power – A Tired Army
This elaborately crafted song belongs to In A Cave, the ninth and newest album from Elf Power, a group of lo-fi experimentalists from Athens, Georgia. Having been together for 14 years, Elf Power have outlasted some of the more well-known artists also a part of indie collective Elephant 6 (Olivia Tremor Control, Neutral Milk Hotel) and although this album sees them with a somewhat more straightforward sound, it still has that quintessential lysergic edge.
