It has been a year in the making, but finally La Blogotheque have uncovered what they feel is the best Take Away Show so far: Patrick Watson road-testing songs from the forthcoming album, Wooden Arms, around Paris from day ’til night. Of the four videos, I like this one best: Patrick Watson and co. have left their Soirée de Poche (an intimate concert recorded and uploaded seperately a year ago) to continue the performance on the streets in true Take Away style. Patrick Watson – Man Like You
Patrick Watson won the Polaris Music Prize for his/their last album Close to Paradise but the forthcoming Wooden Arms is even better; a strong collection of songs of wistful introspection and gorgeous melodies that will quickly find a host of new fans. I think Beijing is the standout track but Man Like You is available for a free and legal download from the album’s official site (and thus why I’m playing it here).
