Ty Segall – Lovely One
Having given Ty Segall’s latest album Lemons a few more spins, tracks like this one are beginning to stand out as new favourites. Just as well, because I’ve almost played out his self-titled debut. I just can’t wait to see him play live – it has to be done! A few weeks back Segall also released a split 7″ with lo-fi legends Thee Oh Sees, covering their song ‘Maria Stacks’ on the b-side. The Easybeats – ‘I Can’t Stand It’
It’s got the same feel as The Temptations’ “I’m Losing You,” and while they are an Australian rock group, this little tune neatly folds together power-pop and soul.
